Tegu Bundle & Save: How to Combine Sets for Maximum Play Value

Quick Answer

To get the most play value from Tegu, combine sets that complement each other in shape and size. Start with a core set like the 24-Piece Set for big builds, then add Travel Pals for on-the-go fun or Baby's First Blocks for the littlest builders. Bundles and multi-set purchases often come with discounts, so you can expand your collection without overspending.

Tegu magnetic wooden blocks are beloved for their open-ended play and heirloom quality. But with so many sets available, it can be tricky to know which ones to buy and how to combine them for maximum fun and value. This guide walks you through practical strategies for mixing and matching Tegu sets, whether you're shopping for a toddler, a big kid, or a classroom.

The key is to think about play styles and building potential. A single set can be fun, but combining sets unlocks taller towers, more complex vehicles, and longer collaborative builds. Plus, with bundle options and multi-set purchases, you can often save money while giving your child a more versatile collection.

Start with a Core Set for Big Builds

A core set like the 24-Piece Set Magnetic Wooden Blocks Tegu Classics is a great foundation. It includes 24 blocks in 6 shapes: 4 medium columns, 4 mega planks, 6 long planks, 4 short planks, 4 cubes, and 2 parallelograms. This variety allows for big and tall creations, making it ideal for kids aged 7 and up who love to build structures and vehicles.

If you're starting from scratch, this set gives you enough pieces to build something substantial. Its medium size is also perfect for tabletop play or floor builds. Once you have a core set, you can expand with smaller sets that add new shapes or themes.

• Consider the 24-Piece Set as your first purchase if you want a versatile base for future expansions.

Add Travel Pals for On-the-Go Play

Travel Pals are compact sets designed for car rides, plane trips, and restaurant waits. Each Travel Pal includes 6 blocks in 2 shapes: 4 triangular prisms and 2 parallelograms. They're fully compatible with all other Tegu Magnetic Wooden Blocks, so they can also be used to add interesting angles to your home builds.

The 4 Travel Pal Bundle is a smart way to get four different pals—Spaceship, Jetplane, Tugboat, and Hummingbird—at a bundle price. This gives you a variety of themed vehicles and characters that can be mixed into larger creations. For a smaller budget, the Travel Pals - Jet Plane Magnetic Wooden Blocks 6 pieces is a single-pal option that still adds value.

• Travel Pals are great for travel, but don't forget they can also enhance your home builds with unique shapes.

Consider Age-Appropriate Sets for Toddlers

For children aged 6 months to 3 years, Tegu offers the Baby & Toddler line, which includes the Baby's First Blocks 6 piece set. These sets are designed for little hands and budding imaginations, focusing on simple shapes and safe play. They're a perfect introduction to magnetic blocks for the youngest builders.

If you're buying for a toddler, you might start with Baby's First Blocks and later add a core set like the 24-Piece Set as they grow. The 24-Piece Set is safety tested for ages 1+, so it's suitable for toddlers too, but the larger pieces and more complex shapes may be better for older kids. Always consider the child's age and developmental stage when choosing sets.

• Baby's First Blocks are a great first set for infants and toddlers, but you'll likely want to expand as they grow.

Maximize Value with Bundles and Bulk Packs

Tegu offers bundle options that combine multiple sets at a discounted price. The 4 Travel Pal Bundle, for example, gives you four pals for the price of less than buying them individually. Similarly, the Baby & Toddler Educational Set Tegu Baby & Toddler Bulk Pack is designed for classrooms or home playrooms, offering a bulk quantity of sets at a value price.

When you're planning to combine sets, look for bundles that align with your needs. If you want a variety of Travel Pals, the bundle is a no-brainer. If you're setting up a playroom or classroom, a bulk pack might be more cost-effective than buying individual sets. Always compare the per-set cost to see if a bundle truly saves you money.

• Bundles and bulk packs can offer significant savings, but only if you actually need all the pieces included.

Accessorize for Storage and Portability

Once you start combining sets, you'll need a way to store and transport them. The Travel Tote Accessories 1 piece is made from durable industrial felt and is large enough to house all Tegu Blocks sets. It's perfect for keeping your collection organized and taking it on the go.

While the Travel Tote doesn't include blocks, it's a practical addition to any collection. It helps protect your blocks and makes it easy to bring them to a friend's house, the park, or on vacation. Investing in good storage can extend the life of your blocks and make playtime more convenient.

• A Travel Tote is a smart accessory if you plan to combine sets and travel with them.

Decision Rules for Combining Tegu Sets

• Start with a core set: Choose a set with a variety of shapes, like the 24-Piece Set, to serve as your foundation for building. A core set ensures you have enough pieces for satisfying builds.
• Add themed sets for variety: Travel Pals or themed sets like vehicles add new shapes and play scenarios that complement your core set. Themed sets keep play fresh and encourage storytelling.
• Match sets to age and skill: For toddlers, start with Baby's First Blocks and gradually introduce larger sets as they develop. For older kids, go straight to bigger sets. Age-appropriate sets are safer and more engaging.
• Look for bundle savings: Compare the cost of individual sets versus bundles or bulk packs. Only buy a bundle if you'll use all the pieces. Bundles can save money, but only if they fit your needs.
